Written By Screamnews01/23/24Melissa Barrera (Samantha Carpenter) was fired from Scream 7 following a post she made in support for Palistine in the Isreal v Palistine war. which has since been deleted, but you can still view below.
Following her being fired, Jenna Ortega Also terminated her contract with them according to some sources because of a salary dispute tho the main story I've seen is due to scheduling whilst filming Beetlejuice 2 set to release this September. She has finally publicly spoken out about the incident last year. This follows rumors of her and Neve Cambell's possible return to the franchise. Melissa stated, “Honestly, I think I finally am becoming who I’m supposed to be in life, and the last few months have been a big awakening of that,” and "I’m just so grateful for everything that’s happened.”
Though there have been some supposed stories/ leaks of Melissa returning as well as Neve Cambell, it is still highly unlikely we will see a Scream 7 in the near future as there isn't a current director for the project after the film's director, Christopher Landen, director of happy death day, also pulled from the project as people have mistaken him for the one who fired melissa as well as him describing it as a living hell.
